MATCH PLAYTournament begins Friday April 30th Non-Members $20 Entry Fee plus Regular Green Fee each round FORMAT: The format for this tournament will be individual net match play. The field will be limited to the first 32 people that sign up to play in the event. There will be both a mens and a ladies flight for the Match Play Tournament. All mens matches will be played from the blue tees. All ladies matches will be played from the silver tees. Handicaps will be verified before each match and the Golf Shop staff will provide pre-printed scorecards to be used during the match. The player with the lowest handicap will have honors on the first tee. The winner of each successive hole will have the honor on the next tee for the duration of the match. When a player has a lead of more holes than remain in the match, the match is declared over. If the match is tied after 18 holes of play, a sudden death playoff starting on Hole #1 will decide the winner. Handicap strokes will continue to be applied during the playoff. A blind draw performed by the Head Golf Professional will be conducted to fill the Match Play bracket. HANDICAPS: Your CDGA handicap index as of April 30th will be your maximum allowed handicap throughout the tournament. If a player's index goes down during the season, the new handicap index will be utilized. If a player's index goes up during the season, the April 30th handicap index will be utilized. When a match is played, 90% of your handicap will be used. All applicable strokes will be backed off of the low player in the match. USGA Match Play rules will be in effect throughout the tournament. MATCH SCHEDULING: Matches must be played prior to each specified date unless permission is granted by the Head Golf Professional. It is the responsibility of the players involved in the match to agree on a date and time to play the match. The staff of Whitetail Ridge is not responsible for the scheduling of matches. Once the two competitors agree on a date and time to play the match, contact the Golf Shop to set up a tee time. The Golf Shop staff will provide names and phone numbers for each match play participant. CHAMPION: The last golfer remaining in the field will be declared the Match Play Champion. The winner will have his/her name engraved on a plaque to be displayed at the club and will receive a gift card for Golf Shop merchandise. The prize value will be determined by the amount of players who participate in the tournament.
